E and A Mathematics

Class Duration: 3 hours
Max Class Size: 8 students

Our upper secondary Mathematics programme follows the MOE outlines closely and focuses on the appropriate way to apply mathematical concepts and skills in different contexts. Students are expected to learn higher order thinking problems with the right techniques through clear reasonings and arguments. Timed practices are provided to students nearing each examination to better prepare them. We believe that good time management and accuracy are the keys to doing well.

Application of Concepts

Students will be taught how to identify question trends and question types through topical worksheets. Each topic will cover the necessary points to look out for, as well as the common trends and questions tested in examinations. Past Year Examination papers will also be provided as practice so that students can be exposed and get used to various types of questions and solutions. This helps to boost their confidence and refreshes their understanding of key concepts and phrases that are frequently tested.

How We Boost Each Child’s Learning

Direct

Consistent revision of concepts is important in helping students retain information and to understand the subject better. We place emphasis on important concepts and questions to better prepare students for examinations. With our step-by-step guidance, we ensure that students are exposed to the right techniques and ways to tackle examination questions. By constantly sharing real world scenarios in our lessons, your child will be able to make connections and apply the concepts and skills taught.

Develop

Practice makes perfect. You may find that your child is not getting enough practice on his/her own which is crucial in their learning years. We believe that regular practice with exam questions will allow students to learn from their mistakes, and be better prepared to tackle their exams.

With our small class size, every child gets the attention they need to clarify doubts, and learn more efficiently.

Connect

We believe in building a strong and trusting relationship with our students by not being merely just a teacher, but also a friend who listens and understands. As students transit into their teenage years, it is crucial for them to feel heard and validated while they adapt to the changes around them. We strive to create an environment that makes them feel safe by believing in their abilities, and at the same time motivate them to give their best so that they can achieve their fullest potential.

Testimonials

“Ms Andrea was recommended to me by one of my close friends and she has helped tremendously to improve my grades ever since. My Mathematics grade went from a D7 to a B3 in a short amount of time. Learning with Ms Andrea and a group of tuition mates makes learning fun and interesting. She does her best to accommodate to our timing to ensure we get the needed attention nearing examinations and she is able to get along well with us!!”
